When Palmer closed in 1936, Bridal Veil’s future was uncertain until the Kraft Food Company purchased the town in 1937, converting the mills to produce wooden cheese boxes. This operation continued for over 50 years until the mills closed in 1988 due to dwindling timber resources. Today, only the post office and cemetery remain, maintained by the Bridal Veil Historic Preservation Society to preserve the site’s history.
